SEXUAL VIOLENCE

Responding to Disclosures on Campus

Understanding Sexual Violence

It is no understatement that sexual assault continues to be a very serious issue at every single college and university campus in Ontario. From Sexual Violence on Campus, Canadian Federation of Students

“Sexual violence means any sexual act or act targeting a person’s sexuality, gender identity or gender expression, whether the act is physical or psychological in nature, that is committed, threatened or attempted against a person without the person’s consent, and includes sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, indecent exposure, voyeurism and sexual exploitation.” Bill 132

These acts of violence can occur in many environments and contexts. “Sexual violence is a reality in Ontario. It is present in every city and community across the province and impacts the lives of our friends, family members and colleagues. Sexual violence can and must be eradicated.” DRAWTHELINE

‘Draw The Line’ is an interactive campaign that aims to engage Ontarians in a dialogue about sexual violence. The campaign challenges common myths about sexual violence and equips bystanders with information on how to intervene safely and effectively. Watch their view below or visit them on their website.
